Alcatel 1359 ISN (Service/Network Layer OS Interface) is an Open Interface available on the Alcatel 1350 management suite, which allows another (external) OS application to interact with the network management layers of Alcatel SDH/WDM Transport Networks. Via the Alcatel 1359 ISN, the external OS can have a full visibility of configured Network Transmission resources (useful for Network Resources Inventory, Network Planning, Provisioning Circuits with constraints) or can have an abstract "black-box" visibility (typically used by VPNs). Moreover, the 1359 ISN allows the external OS to provision circuits end-to-end across the transport network, and to supervise these circuits including the retrieval of Performance Monitoring data on a per circuit basis.
